Our New Bath Tub!

While taking a shower, Conner decided a bath would be better! He crammed himself in this tiny little bucket I keep in the shower to hold cleaning supplies. He stayed in it after the shower was off for at least another 15 minutes, happy as can be. He finally got out once he was shivering and frozen!

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Jaguars

Our school has adopted "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey. I think it's so great. I've had to bust out my copy of the book so I can keep up with my kids' new vocabulary. Ryan and I were disagreeing about something, and Braden told us "You guys need to synergize!" They are always talking about sharpening the saw, being proactive and begin with the end in mind. And I've been trying to use the habits when I'm trying to get them to do their homework before they play, First Things First!! So last night, our school went before the school board to show them how the program is going so far. One of the teachers wrote songs for each of the habits, and the 2nd graders were able to perform a few of them for the school board. Here is Sienna waiting for her performance time... And here is a video of just one of the songs...

Looking Good in Pink

Halloween costume gone awry! It's been a week since I used purple hairspray. The pink IS getting lighter, but I might have to bring in the professionals! Someone asked me if my hair was pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Yes! Yes it is. That is the story I'm going with. Because otherwise, I look like a 35-year-old trying to be a cool teenager, which isn't pretty AT ALL!

Math Nerd

RJ is a math nerd. He loves math and he does it for fun. Ever since I can remember, he has requested math problems as a form of entertainment. So every year, he competes in a local math contest. The first year, he placed 3rd in one section and 6th overall. The second year, he was like 14th place. This year he didn't place at all. He has finally accepted, that if he wants to be competitive, he will have to study. The tests have problems not yet learned in school. But, he still had fun, although he admits, it would be funner if he had won! Braden reading a book and eating a sucker while we wait. Sienna waiting patiently. Conner NOT waiting patiently. Conner has been stuck in this stroller for the past 2.5 years of his life. Everywhere we go, people exclaim their amazement that he is so good in his stroller for so long. Well, he has finally had ENOUGH and now he is not good in his stroller for any length of time whatsoever. Braden & Conner were happy chasing squirrels while RJ attempted percentage problems for the first time.

Bunco: The Halloween Version

By the way, purple hairspray may seem like a good idea, but two washes later, I have PINK hair!

Girls Weekend

A couple weeks ago, I got to spend a girls weekend with my sisters in Scottsdale, AZ. We try to do this once a year, and I love it. It recharges me and makes me happy. We stayed at a great condo in Scottsdale. We started our weekend with a session at the Mesa, AZ temple. We also went to a dinner theater in Mesa. We went to a matinee of "The Church Basement Ladies" which was so funny, but evidently matinees are for senior citizens. We were the only ones in the room with our own teeth, and without blue hair! It was great. Of course, we did A LOT of shopping. Don't you hate dressing room doors that automatically lock?! We had to squeeze under a few doors, but nothing deters a shopping frenzy! And of course, the majority of our pictures were taken with ice cream! We went to a little shop in Scottsdale called the Sugar Bowl, and it was wonderful! Tell me that isn't the most beautiful thing you've ever seen. And yes, I ate it ALL! Our last night we went out to dinner at The White Chocolate Grill, which was also very delicious. It was a great weekend, and we are already thinking of where to go next year!
