Window where Joseph Smith fell out of after being shot. It's the top window in the picture below.
This is the original door with bullet holes in it. There is one in the doorjam, and another in the middle of the door. The latter is from the bullet that killed Hyrum Smith.

Independence, MO - July 14, 2008
Independence Visitors Center
This Book of Mormon is translated in Yapese. We thought it was funny, because we just so happen to know a man who served a mission in the island of Yap. It's very tiny and there was no language training, he had to learn the language on his own.

Kansas City - July 14, 2008
Union Station - We planned on seeing an Imax movie here, and also going to Science City to see dinosaurs and go to a railroad museum. But alas, everything is closed on Mondays, so we settled for chocolate-covered twinkies instead.

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

4th of July
We had lots of fun on the 4th. We got up way too early to have breakfast with Grandpa Jan & Grandma Nancy at their annual church celebration. There were lots of games for the kids (including Dad). Later that afternoon we had a BBQ at Grandpa's house and the kids swam all evening instead of eating. But Ryan and I ate enough for everyone. Then we watched fireworks at the Sunrise Mall from the back of our van. I thought the loudness would scare Conner and make him scream, but he was great. He had big huge wide eyes and nursed furiously the entire time.

Cub Scout Twilight Camp - Family Day
We had a fun day at RJ's last day of Twilight Camp. It was a Medieval Theme with lots of fun games. RJ was excited to show us all of the fun things he did all week. Here, RJ & Braden are "jousting". The red bouncy ball is the "horse."
Sienna's favorite part of the day were all the snacks. Notice the dried up ice cream all over her face!
Here is the "King's Cup" game, and of course, Braden is pouting about it "not being fair."

Heroes All
RJ and his fellow 2nd graders performed this show. RJ had three speaking parts that he had practiced perfectly, never once made a mistake. At the show, he suffered from stage fright at the very beginning, but was able to recover and give his next two lines perfect.
