This is how Braden spent his entire day, he was puking all morning...
Me, Sienna, and RJ spent our day on the beach. The sun FINALLY came out about 4pm! It's been so cold! But I still managed a sunburn.

We ended our night with karaoke at Giovanni's pizza...

Today was incredibly FREEZING! So instead of playing on the beach, we went to the candy store!
Robitaille's is a favorite place for us to go every year. The kids (and me) are always excited to pick out their very own bag of candy.
Later, Ryan took the kids to see Toy Story 3. At 5pm, Sienna couldn't stand being away from the ocean a minute longer, and was the only one ready to brave the cold and play in the ocean...
Then we had yummy taco salads for dinner.
Our day ended perfectly with a girls trip (and Jon) to Santa Barbara for a shopping trip at Ross. So much fun!
Today was overcast and cold. We never saw the sun, even once. But that didn't stop us from having fun! We dug some holes...
Played some Frisbee...
Took a rest...
And just hung out...
Conner still freaks out if his feet touch the sand. To avoid it, he will even sit on your head...
RJ held him for awhile, and Conner made sure his feet stuck straight out at all times, it was just too risky to let them relax...

We had a great FHE, planned by the McOmbers. After dinner, we had a small lesson on the importance of the 4th of July, and then the kids played musical chairs...
The men spent an inordinate amount of time trying to squat with their heels down, apparently it's tricky...
And we sang a lot of songs, accompanied by Chris on the ukulele...
My mom and 3 of my sisters spent the day with us, so fun! Lois, Linda, & Mom...

Conner does NOT like walking in the sand. He wanted to be carried everywhere. Bobbi took advantage of the snuggle factor...
He did like pouring sand all over himself, and all over me, for that matter.. Apparently this is a completely different situation that is very appealing...
By late afternoon, Grandpa coaxed Conner onto the sand. He was still a little stressed, but didn't whine or cry...

Maverick kept yelling "CHEESE!" while I was taking everyone's picture, so I took that as a hint that he wanted his picture taken...
Happy 4th everyone! It was a good day.
We made it to the beach, finally! That drive always seems to last forever. After unpacking the car, we rushed down the main street to just miss the parade. We got to see the back end of a firetruck and that's about it! Here we are, missing the parade...

On the walk back, the kids started their impromptu interpretation of "The Thinker."
The kids frolicked on the beach until sunset, then came in to watch a movie. Braden was very tired, and conked out first. Dad took this opportunity to play with his eyelids, which the rest of the kids thought was so hilarious...
Braden & Sienna took the same class this year. Sienna graduated, but Braden did not...
This is Braden swimming. What you can't tell from the picture is that the whole time he was swimming he was screaming, "I CAN'T DO IT!!" For some reason, he is very scared of swimming. He got brave on the very last day, but it wasn't enough to move him to the next level.
The suckers on the last day are Braden's favorite part of swim lessons.
