Little Old Man Face
Conner has started sucking on his bottom lip all the time now, and it's so cute. Ryan thinks he looks like a little old man when he does it.

Scootching
Conner is a scootcher. It's uncertain whether or not this qualifies as crawling, so we call it scootching. And Conner manages to get himself anywhere he wants to go with his technique.

Gardening 101
So, I decided to pull weeds today. And then I find this "weed" that looks like a cactus to me. I found this really funny, probably nobody else will, but I'm sure cactuses (or cacti?) do not grow in the wild of Sacramento, but seriously, there it is.
The next thing that occurred was traumatic. I encountered this frog and jumped out of my skin. When my heart started beating again, I realized that, of course it was plastic, and had only been positioned at my doorstep by some small child of which I have an abundance.

A Couple Highlights from SoCal
Cute Cousins: Ava, Sienna, & Kensley
Braden found scissors at Aunt Linda's house and thought it would be a good idea to cut out a big chunk of hair right on the front of his head. Grandma Shirley did her best to repair the damage.

Johnny Appleseed Day
Last Friday was Johnny Appleseed Day. Braden & Sienna's classes were celebrating by doing various apple-related activities, including making applesauce. We missed that day because we were in SoCal visiting family and the kids were very upset. So, thanks to Aunt Linda and Grandma Shirley, we celebrated ourselves and made some of our own delicious applesauce with a little pear thrown in just for fun. Happy birthday Johnny Appleseed!!

My Cookies
Braden gave me this note that says, "Mom look next to you and you will find cookies. I luv you mom." Then I looked next to me and found this bag of cookies that said, "Sandi Dee Pinney cookies." Sometimes he can be so sweet. I should mention that later that night he confiscated the cookies in anger because I "cleaned" his room with a trash bag after hours of asking nicely, begging, bribing, and threatening him to do it himself.

Predicaments
Conner is always getting himself into a predicament of some kind. Here he is caught underneath the bouncy chair (Make sure and take note of his cute little teeth!). Yesterday it was much more traumatic. I was at Target unloading my bags into the car and there was some honking, and when I turned, my cart and Conner were GONE! I looked around and saw them ROLLING DOWN THE ROAD! I ran after him and the cart, they were about two car lengths away and still rolling. Thank goodness for the car backing out who actually looked behind her instead of crashing into my poor baby. My stomach hurt for the rest of the day.

Mom's Homecoming From Nauvoo
I went to Lapoint with Conner & Sienna for my mom's missionary homecoming. Sienna spent most of the weekend in the wagon with Kensley, while Kali pulled them up and down the driveway. The 2nd pic is Conner with his Uncle Robert, wearing a vest that Robert wore as a baby. The last pic is Kensley & Conner at bedtime. We had so much fun spending time with family and it was sad to leave them all, we don't get together often enough.

1st Tooth
I understand that you probably can't actually SEE this tooth, but I promise you it's there! This explains why Conner drools enough for three babies these days. We had lots of fun trying to get this picture. He was so excited about all the attention and was so wiggly and tried to eat me every time I came near his mouth. Not to mention all the drool everywhere.

Squealer
Conner is always singing, screaming, squealing, and we think it's so cute. Here's a video of him in squeal mode, sorry about the blurriness, he flails his arms so much so it goes in and out of focus!

Dignified and hard working. With a gentle and soft-spoken manner you have something many people don't. Patience. Even through the moments of heartbreak you're still able to hold onto all of your hopes and dreams. Bide your time; your dream will come true.

Conner Learns to Eat!
Conner is CONSTANTLY hungry, hence his size. We decided it was high time he tried something a little more substantial. Our first try with rice cereal was a big hit. He got very excited, flailing all about and opening his mouth wide.

Our Trip to Nauvoo - July 8 - 14, 2008
July 8, 2008 Liberty Jail - Joseph, Hyrum, and a few others were put in this jail for about 4 months in the winter when the temperatures got done to 30 below. The ceiling was only 6 feet high, and one of the men was about 6 foot 7 inches, and had a hunched back for the rest of his life, as a result of staying here.
Jesse James' Farm - We found this by accident!
(I broke my shoe here racing RJ back to the car, and didn't even win. I bought flip flops at Wal-Mart, which of course gave me blisters, and then had to buy socks and looked like a dork for the rest of our vacation wearing socks and tennis shoes.)

Nauvoo - July 9, 2008
"Prairie Diamonds" - We received these at the Blacksmith Shop, they are nails made into rings.
At the Blacksmith Shop, the "blacksmith" demonstrated how early pioneers made horseshoes, by making this tiny one while we watched. He then gave it to Sienna because she had the nearest birthday from anyone in that tour.

This is a view of the temple from the Trail of Hope (or Trail of Tears). This is what the Saints saw as they were leaving Nauvoo.
Statue of Brigham Young and Joseph Smith at the bottom of Parley Street (Trail of Hope), looking out at the Mississippi River, contemplating where they are going next.

Mom giving us a tour of the post office.
Ryan was most excited to visit this home and show of Jonathan Browning, inventor of a revolving rifle (I might have remembered that wrong).
