Broken Wing

On Monday, Braden found this little bird in our backyard in a bucket full of water. With the help of some neighbor friends, they scooped it out of the bucket, wrapped it in a towel, and then set it out in the sun. The poor little bird was soaked, couldn't fly, and was shaking badly. Ryan and I were certain it would probably die. The kids found a shoebox and put a piece of bread, some water, and toilet paper (from off of Braden's bedroom floor, of course) to make a little nest. Dad cleaned him up a little and he was able to fly a little in our kitchen. By morning he was as good as new and flew off as soon as we took him outside. Ryan thinks he was tired from almost drowning and also weighed down by all that water. Braden is a little sad that we couldn't keep him as a pet, but we are all relieved that he survived.

RJ's Pitching Debut

For the game on Thursday, RJ's coach dedicated the 1st three innings to boys who have never pitched. RJ did a great job, the opposing team didn't get any runs and he struck a boy out! Later, when RJ was up to bat, the pitcher hit him in the knee hard, and RJ had to be carried off the field, very scary. But he's all right!!

Mother & Son PJ Party

On Friday our school had a mother & son pj party. It was total craziness, but we had fun playing games and eating A LOT of red vines. We also watched the movie, Bolt. RJ was injured at the very beginning of the party and then toward the end spilt an entire cup of hot chocolate over himself, so he had a rough time, but Braden had a great time!

Mother's Day Tea

Sienna's Kindergarten class had a special program on Mother's Day with some great songs and cookies and lemonade. All of the kids filled out a form about their mothers. Apparently I weigh only 30 lbs, my favorite place is the beach, and I love Las Vegas! Here Sienna is standing in front of a bug with her best grouchy face in the center. It says, "I feel grouchy when my mom doesn't let me sleep in!"

Pinewood Derby
